Monthly Taize Services
Monthly Taize Services are held at First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville on the First Sunday of each month from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel. This service of light and song will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the community is invited to attend. Entry through the main Chapel doors is encouraged.
Taize worship, a contemplative form of worship, including readings, simple songs, and silent prayer comes to us from the small town of Taize, France. At the close of World War 2, a protestant pastor, with the help of three friends established a church community based on a monastic lifestyle, common prayer, and a commitment to service. Today, this truly ecumenical community attracts thousands of visitors from around the world. It's songs are published in a variety of languages, and its service is extremely popular with youth. Silence and repetitive singing help to free our minds from our day to day worries and to open ourselves to God. In this way, we are free to worship and listen at the same time. We hope you will join us.
Monthly Services of Healing and Wholeness
A Service of Healing & Wholeness will be held in the Sanctuary on the Second Wednesday of each month from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. No RSVP required.
