Rev. Dan Martin, Senior Minister

Rev. Dan MartinReverend Martin has held appointments in the Western North Carolina Conference since 1977 and is currently serving as the Senior Minister of First UMC of Newton. He is known for his strong work ethic, his capable leadership, and his good humor. He enjoys being involved in the community and has served as President of the Rotary Club of Catawba Valley, on the Newton Human Relations Committee, and enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, reading, and writing.

Rev. Martin graduated from Pfeiffer College and earned his M.Div. from Duke Divinity School. He is married to the former Anne Duncan and they have two sons, Duncan (24) and Parker (18). Anne is a graduate of Salem College where she earned her MBA from Wake Forest University. She began her career with Wachovia Bank. She was most recently the Principle Founder of High Street Bank and now serves as the CFO of Interact, a software company. Their eldest son, Duncan, earned his undergraduate degree from Wofford College and will graduate from Duke Divinity School in May of this year. Dan and Anne’s youngest son, Parker, is a freshman at Wake Forest University.
