40 Days of Purpose

Every member of the church, and all visitors and guests, are invited to participate in the 40 Days of Purpose over 7 weekends beginning on Sunday, April 11 and ending on Sunday, May 30. This spiritual growth event is designed to answer life’s most important question: “What on earth am I here for?” You will be given opportunities to commit to habits of spiritual growth, memorize scripture, participate in small groups, serve in a ministry of our church, share your faith, and learn lifestyles of worship given to the glory of God. We are excited as we envision our entire congregation living in alignment with God’s purposes for our lives and the impact this can have in our homes and communities.

We are assembling a Campaign Team to facilitate the events at First Church. This team will create strategies for prayer, coordinate the seven Sunday services, oversee the weekly Bible studies, hook us up with a National Simulcast with 8,000 other churches, on April 11, hosted by Rick Warren, the author of “The Purpose-Driven Life.”

You may already have this book in your possession. Every participant in the 40 days will have their own book. This national best seller will be our guide book through our 40 days and will be offered to you for the discounted price. This, and Small Group Book, will be the only cost for you for the entire program.

You are invited to join one of the seven design teams (Prayer Team, Communication Team, Small Group/Sunday School Class Team, National Simulcast Team, Ministry and Mission Fair Team, Youth Team, and Celebration Sunday Team) and help coordinate our event. Commonly asked Questions About the 40 Days of Purpose:

Is this a fund raising campaign?

NO! You will not be asked to contribute any money except for the two mandatory books. You will be given a chance to purchase a T-Shirt if you desire.
Can I bring guests and friends from outside the church to the 40 Days of Purpose?

Yes!! As a matter of fact this is a must. Unchurched friends, friends with spiritual needs, and friends who, like us, wonder why we are here are invited, welcomed, and expected.
What will happen during the 40 days?

Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, Evangelism.
Will I be forced to speak in public, read in public, stand up in church, pray out loud, go door to door, do something I do not chose to do, or eat a worm?

No!! You will be given a chance to daily find new direction in your life.
Am I needed to join the Campaign Team?
